Application of Mirror Anodized Aluminum in Automobile Field

As a commuting tool in modern society, cars have penetrated into all aspects of people's lives. Unlike the plastic electroplated bright strips on the grille, the bright strips of the window frame are all metal, usually using stainless steel or aluminum.

Stainless steel bright strip solutions are mostly adopted by Japanese, Korean, and most Chinese brands. Because stainless steel is too hard, it will wrinkle when directly flanged, so usually the ends of bright strips need a plastic end cap.

Another bright strip solution is to use mirror-anodized aluminum. Compared with stainless steel, the processing of mirror surface anodized aluminum is much more complicated and the cost is higher. The mirror aluminum material is stamped into the corresponding shape, and the most important thing is the surface anodizing treatment, so that the aluminum alloy surface forms an oxide film that resists corrosion and wear. Due to its good ductility, aluminum is easy to process. Therefore, the ends of the mirror anodized aluminum can be directly flanged.

German brand cars and most European brand cars use the mirror aluminum bright strip solution. And American brand cars have gradually begun to replace stainless steel with aluminum solutions in recent years.

Stainless steel reflects the surrounding environment faithfully like a mirror, while the surface of the anodized mirror aluminum plate is not completely mirrored, but a soft bright silver. Therefore, in the actual visual effect, aluminum will show more of the metal color and be brighter.
