3005 H14 color-coated aluminum strip is prefinished roll-forming material designed for roller shutter windows, exterior window shutter slats and related architectural closure systems. The aluminum strip can be continuously fed into compatible profiling equipment and formed into shutter slats with the required cross-section and interlocking geometry.
AA3005 aluminum provides a practical combination of corrosion resistance, strength and formability for suitable shutter applications. The H14 condition provides controlled rigidity while retaining useful forming capability for compatible roll-forming and bending processes.
The coated surface is available in architectural colors, textured finishes and wood-grain effects. Precision slitting, controlled coating flexibility and low edge burr are important for stable feeding, repeatable slat production and a consistent finished appearance.

3005-H14 provides useful rigidity for thin-gauge shutter components while retaining forming capability for suitable profiling and bending processes. Final material suitability depends on slat geometry, thickness, roll configuration and required bend radii.
Thin aluminum slats help reduce the mass of a window shutter curtain. Lower material weight can simplify handling and is particularly useful in window-scale systems where compact rolls and repeated opening and closing are required.
AA3005 belongs to the aluminum-manganese alloy family and provides useful corrosion resistance for suitable architectural applications. The factory-applied coating adds the required decorative finish and additional surface protection.
The strip reaches the shutter manufacturer with its decorative surface already applied, allowing slats to be continuously formed without a separate painting operation after profiling.
Roller shutter window slats are produced by feeding flat strip through a series of forming rolls that progressively create the required profile. The finished slat may incorporate curved sections, hooks, interlocks or other geometries depending on the shutter system.
Consistent strip thickness, accurate feed width and predictable material condition help maintain repeatable profile geometry during continuous production.
For a new production line, buyers should provide the approved flat-strip width, material thickness, required slat profile and decoiler specifications before ordering.

Roller shutter window material can experience surface contact during slitting, profiling, stacking, assembly, installation and repeated operation. An anti-scratch coating system helps reduce visible handling and abrasion marks while maintaining the required decorative appearance.

Roller shutter slats are produced through repeated progressive bending. The coating must therefore remain sufficiently flexible during profiling to reduce severe cracking around formed sections.
T-bend performance provides a useful reference for coating flexibility, but the actual shutter profile should also be tested because production results depend on material thickness, roll geometry, forming speed and bend radius.
Common flat-strip feed widths listed for this product range include 118 mm, 119 mm, 120 mm, 121 mm and 122 mm. These dimensions are particularly relevant when the production line requires a controlled starting width before the shutter slat is profiled.
The correct flat width should be taken from the approved slat drawing or existing machine specification. A difference of only a few millimeters can affect the finished hook, interlock or coverage geometry of the slat.
The broader coating and slitting line can process widths from 15 mm to 1600 mm, allowing additional custom feed widths to be discussed for different shutter profiles.
Slitting quality directly affects shutter production. Excessive burr can interfere with feeding, contact forming rolls, create handling problems and affect the edge condition of the finished slat.
For automated production, edge condition should be included in incoming inspection together with strip width, thickness, coil winding and surface appearance.

White and Silver provide neutral finishes that can coordinate with common window frames, exterior walls and façade systems.
Anthracite Grey is widely selected for contemporary architectural window systems and can be coordinated with dark window frames, metal façades and modern exterior finishes.
Brown and wood-grain effects can be selected for residential window shutters requiring a warmer decorative appearance while retaining an aluminum substrate.
Custom colors can be discussed according to RAL K5, RAL K7, Pantone or an approved customer sample. For repeat building projects, buyers should provide the previously approved color reference where possible.

Provide the finished shutter slat drawing or the approved flat-strip specification. The profile determines the required material width, forming sequence and interlocking geometry.
Common listed thicknesses include 0.18, 0.19, 0.20, 0.21, 0.37 and 0.40 mm. The correct thickness should be selected according to slat geometry, window size, required rigidity and forming-machine design.
Common feed widths include 118–122 mm. Use the actual flat-strip dimension required by the forming line rather than the visible width of the finished shutter slat.
This product page covers AA3005 in H14 temper. If another alloy or temper is required, provide the exact material designation so forming compatibility and availability can be reviewed separately.
Specify solid color, structured surface, wood grain or another approved decorative finish according to the building design and installation environment.
Where abrasion resistance, bending performance, gloss or color tolerance are important, include the required coating tests and acceptance limits in the purchase specification.
Available paper-core inner diameters include 405 mm and 505 mm. Confirm the required core and acceptable coil weight against the decoiler or feeding equipment before ordering.
Verify material thickness and flat-strip width before loading a full production coil. Dimensional consistency is important for repeated slat geometry.
Inspect both edges for excessive burr, distortion or damage that could interfere with feeding and profiling.
Check the visible surface for scratches, dents, coating defects, stains or color variation before the material enters production.
Where several shutter windows will be installed on the same façade, compare material with the approved color reference to reduce visible differences between coils and production batches.
For a new thickness, coating system or slat profile, a short production trial can help verify forming behavior, coating condition and finished interlocking geometry before bulk processing.
