Corrosion Resistance

 
5083 aluminum alloy is mainly composed of magnesium element (4.0% -4.9%), which has excellent corrosion resistance, especially in environments containing chloride ions. It is widely used in marine equipment such as ship decks and cabin walls.

Weldability

 
This alloy can be efficiently welded through various processes such as argon arc welding and laser welding, and can still maintain good mechanical properties after welding. It is suitable for the manufacturing of structures such as automobile bodies and aircraft fuel tanks.

Cold Processing Performance

 
Thin walled parts such as oil tanks and lubricating oil conduits can be processed through deep drawing technology. The plasticity is better in the semi cold work hardening state, but it decreases after cold work hardening.
 

Moderate Intensity

 
At room temperature, the tensile strength can reach 275-350MPa, and the yield strength is ≥ 215MPa. It is suitable for manufacturing structural components such as liquid containers and pressure vessels that require a certain load-bearing capacity. ‌
