Different paints for colour coated aluminium coils
Composition and properties
PE (ordinary polyester):
ordinary polyester type coatings are moderately priced, with good durability, and can meet the use requirements of ordinary buildings . It has good flexibility and impact resistance, and can effectively protect the aluminium substrate from external damage.
PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride):
PVDF is a polymer of vinylidene fluoride, PVDF-coated colour coated panels using fluorocarbon resin containing fluorocarbon paint on the front side of the topcoat, with good stability, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties .
SMP (Silicon Modified Polyester):
The front topcoat of SMP coated colour coated panels is made of silicon modified polyester, which has excellent hardness, abrasion resistance and heat resistance, and higher outdoor durability than ordinary polyester.
HDP (High Durability Polyester):
HDP coated colour coated panels have a high weathering polyester front topcoat, which is slightly more expensive than ordinary polyester colour coated panels, but has excellent durability and processability.
EPOXY (epoxy resin):
It has excellent adhesion, can be firmly combined with aluminium substrate, and is not easy to fall off. Its chemical resistance is outstanding, good resistance to acids, alkalis, salts and other chemicals, but the weather resistance is poor, long-term exposure to sunlight is prone to chalking and fading phenomenon. Hardness is high, but flexibility may be relatively poor.
Appearance
PE coatings: a wide range of colours is possible, but the gloss level is relatively low and usually matte.
PVDF coatings: rich and vibrant colours, good gloss, high-gloss, semi-gloss and matte effects to meet different decorative needs.
EPOXY coatings: generally in solid colours, with a relatively small choice of colours. The gloss level can be adjusted according to requirements, but is usually not too bright.
SMP coatings: a wide range of colours, moderate gloss, can be customised according to customer requirements, and can achieve a good decorative effect.
HDP coatings: a wide range of popular colours and gloss levels can be flexibly adjusted to achieve a similar appearance to PVDF coatings.
