Exterior aluminum products must do more than look attractive when they leave the coating line. They must remain formable during roll forming and bending, resist corrosion after installation, maintain color consistency across multiple components and perform reliably through years of sun, rain, temperature change and airborne contamination.

Ding'ang supplies prepainted aluminum coils, sheets, strips and custom small coils for roofing, wall cladding, rainwater drainage and exterior trim systems. Material configurations can be adjusted to suit residential, commercial and industrial construction in different climates.

Our supply scope includes master coils for large-scale roll forming, slit coils for gutter and downspout machines, trim and flashing coils for distributors, and cut-to-length sheets for project fabrication.

Pre-painted aluminum coating production line

One Material Platform for the Complete Exterior System

Building-material manufacturers often purchase roofing, gutter, trim and flashing materials from different suppliers. Even when the specified color name is identical, differences in substrate, paint formulation, gloss and coating conditions may produce a visible mismatch after installation.

Ding'ang helps customers coordinate multiple exterior products through one controlled aluminum-coating and converting program.

This approach can help:

  • Maintain color consistency between roofing, gutter, downspout and trim components
  • Match substrate strength and temper to different forming machines
  • Reduce coating cracking at hems, locks and tight bends
  • Select weather-resistant coatings according to climate and service environment
  • Supply both industrial master coils and customer-ready small coils
  • Reduce local slitting, recoiling and repacking
  • Establish repeatable specifications for distributors and project contractors

Recommended Aluminum Products

Roofing material

Roofing & Cladding Aluminum Coil

Prepainted aluminum coil for standing-seam roofing, corrugated roofing, wall cladding, facade panels and architectural profiles.

Material should be selected according to profile depth, forming speed, exterior exposure and expected service life. Forming-heavy profiles require sufficient elongation and coating flexibility, while coastal or high-UV projects require a more durable coating system.

Aluminum gutter and downspout system

Aluminum Gutter & Downspout Coil

Slit prepainted aluminum coil for seamless gutter machines, downspout roll formers and rainwater-drainage components.

Custom width, coil weight, inner diameter and color combinations can be developed around the customer’s forming equipment. Both one-side and double-side coating configurations can be evaluated.

Aluminum louver and shutter system

Louver & Shutter Aluminum Strip

Narrow prepainted aluminum strip for roller shutters, external blinds, louvers, ventilation components and architectural sunshade systems.

The strip width, coating flexibility, surface pattern and winding condition should be matched to the customer’s profile design and forming line.

Color coated corrugated aluminum roofing sheet

Corrugated & Embossed Aluminum

Prepainted or mill-finish corrugated and embossed aluminum for roofing, siding, insulation systems, soffits and decorative exterior components.

Embossing can improve visual texture and help reduce the visibility of minor surface imperfections. Pattern depth and sheet thickness should be confirmed according to forming and structural requirements.

Common North American Product Formats

Depending on the program, Ding'ang can evaluate imperial product formats such as:

  • 0.019-inch aluminum trim coil
  • 0.024-inch trim and exterior-forming coil
  • 0.027-inch gutter or construction coil
  • 0.032-inch heavy-duty gutter and exterior coil
  • 10-inch, 14-inch, 15-inch, 20-inch and 24-inch slit widths
  • 50-foot, 100-foot, 150-foot or 250-foot small-coil programs

Final gauge, width, length and packaging must be confirmed for each project.

Application Guidance

Metal Roofing

Roofing material is repeatedly bent, roll formed and mechanically seamed. The aluminum temper and coating must provide sufficient flexibility without creating surface cracks at formed ribs or seams.

Recommended evaluation points:

  • Profile depth and bend radius
  • Roll-forming speed
  • Standing-seam or corrugated profile
  • Roof pitch and drainage condition
  • UV level and climate
  • Coastal, industrial or high-pollution exposure
  • Required color-retention period

PVDF or FEVE coatings are generally preferred for demanding exterior roofing. PE or SMP may be suitable for cost-sensitive projects with less severe exposure.

Review Your Roofing Requirements

Facade & Wall Cladding

Facade materials require stable color and gloss across a large visible area. Flatness, coating uniformity and protective-film performance are particularly important.

For multiple elevations or phased projects, a color-control plan should be agreed before production. Panels installed side by side should preferably use material from controlled production batches.

Plan a Facade Color Program

Gutter & Downspout Systems

Gutter material must combine stiffness with forming flexibility. Material that is too soft may deform during handling, while material that is too hard may crack at formed corners and locking features.

The RFQ should specify:

  • Gutter profile size
  • Downspout profile
  • Forming-machine type
  • Required slit width
  • Target coil weight
  • Inner diameter
  • Exterior and interior colors
  • Annual demand by color

Trim, Fascia & Flashing

Trim and flashing coils are commonly fabricated on site with brakes and hand tools. The material must bend cleanly and maintain coating adhesion along hems and sharp folds.

For retail programs, the coil length, carton strength, label design, color coding and pallet arrangement are as important as the aluminum specification.

Develop a Trim & Flashing Program

Coastal Building Projects

Coastal projects face salt, humidity, wind-driven rain and strong UV exposure. Higher-strength 5000-series substrates and PVDF/FEVE systems may be evaluated where the project requires improved corrosion and weather resistance.

Coastal suitability must be supported by the complete coating specification and relevant testing rather than by alloy name alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which alloy is normally used for aluminum gutter coil?

AA3003 and AA3105 in H24 or related tempers are common starting points. AA5052 may be evaluated for selected high-strength or coastal applications. The final selection depends on the gutter profile and forming machine.

Should gutter coil be painted on one side or both sides?

Both configurations are possible. Some products use a durable exterior top coat and a primer or service coat on the reverse. Other systems require full colors on both sides. The exposed surfaces and forming process should be reviewed before specification.

Can Ding'ang supply imperial gauges and widths?

Yes. Imperial thicknesses, widths, coil lengths and packaging formats can be evaluated for North American and other markets using imperial standards.

Which coating is best for coastal roofing?

PVDF or FEVE is generally preferred for severe exterior exposure, but performance also depends on pretreatment, paint formulation, coating thickness, substrate and installation conditions.

Can roofing, gutter and trim materials use the same color?

Yes. A coordinated color program can be established. Differences in substrate, gloss, surface texture and forming direction should still be considered during sample approval.

Can you provide boxed trim or flashing coils?

Custom small-coil and boxed-coil programs can be evaluated according to coil size, equipment availability, carton design and total order quantity.

Can I receive samples before ordering?

Standard material samples or custom color samples can be provided depending on the specification. Application-specific bending or forming tests should be agreed during sample development.
