Recommended Signage Products

Channel letter aluminum coil

Channel Letter Aluminum Coil

Prepainted narrow aluminum strip for the returns and sidewalls of illuminated channel letters.

Material can be configured for automatic or manual bending, stapling, clinching, welding or adhesive assembly. The letter depth, bend radius and machine model should be provided before final width and temper selection.

Trim-cap and fold-edge aluminum

Trim-Cap & Fold-Edge Aluminum

Color-coated strip for traditional trim-cap channel letters, fold-edge systems and selected trimless constructions.

The color and gloss can be coordinated with acrylic faces or brand standards. Reverse-side color and surface treatment should be specified according to whether the inside of the letter remains visible.

Narrow aluminum strip for signage

Narrow Aluminum Strip

Slit aluminum strip for sign frames, LED-lightbox components, advertising profiles, edge bands and custom display systems.

Customers can specify width, edge condition, coil ID, weight, color, coating and protective film according to the fabrication line.

Aluminum mini coil for sign fabrication

Aluminum Mini Coil

Manageable coated aluminum coils for sign distributors, workshops and private-label programs.

Mini-coil dimensions, length verification, carton design, labels, barcodes and color coding can be developed as part of the product program. Final supply scope should state whether recoiling and packing are completed in-house or through an approved converting partner.

Aluminum sheet and blanks for traffic signs

Traffic Sign Aluminum Sheet & Blanks

Mill-finish or surface-prepared aluminum sheet and blanks for traffic signs, safety signs, parking signs and wayfinding systems.

The substrate should provide sufficient flatness and stiffness while remaining suitable for blanking, corner rounding, punching and application of reflective sheeting.

Typical Material Configurations

Sign blanks and circles Mill finish, degreased or coated aluminum Custom diameter, corner radius, holes and surface preparation
Decorative display sheet Coated, brushed, mirror, embossed or patterned aluminum Project-specific sheet thickness, size, film and finish

Common Channel-Letter Program Options

  • Widths from approximately 50 to 200 mm, subject to equipment and letter depth
  • Metric thicknesses or market-specific formats such as 0.024 and 0.032 inch
  • Coil lengths such as 50 or 100 m, subject to strip thickness and packing
  • White, black, red, blue, green, gold, silver and custom brand colors
  • Same or different colors on the two sides
  • Gloss, matte, brushed or textured finish
  • Optional protective film
  • Individual cartons, color labels, barcodes and pallet packing
  • Final dimensions must be matched to the customer’s bending machine and production method.

Automatic Channel-Letter Bending

Automatic benders require consistent strip width, low burr, controlled camber and stable winding. Excessive hardness may cause corner cracking, while material that is too soft can deform during feeding or assembly.

The RFQ should identify:

  • Bender brand and model
  • Letter-return depth
  • Notching and flanging method
  • Minimum inside radius
  • Stapled, clinched, welded or bonded assembly
  • Required coil ID and maximum OD
  • Preferred coil length or weight

A machine trial is recommended before a new thickness or temper enters regular production.

Trim-Cap and Trimless Letters

Traditional trim-cap systems and trimless systems use different edge geometries. The aluminum should be evaluated after the full folding and assembly process, including any adhesive or tape.

If the front face and return must match, approve the acrylic, paint and aluminum together under consistent lighting.

Traffic and Safety Signs

Traffic-sign substrates may be governed by national or project standards for alloy, temper, thickness, flatness and surface condition.

Before applying reflective film, confirm:

  • Surface cleaning or pretreatment
  • Adhesive compatibility
  • Flatness
  • Hole and edge quality
  • Sign size and wind-load requirement
  • Film manufacturer’s application instructions

Compliance of the finished sign depends on the complete sign construction and applicable road authority specification.

Retail and Private-Label Programs

For distributor products, packaging is part of performance. Cartons should protect the coil edge and painted surface while displaying the correct color, size and traceability information.

A private-label specification may include:

  • Brand artwork
  • Product naming
  • Color code
  • Metric and imperial dimensions
  • Barcode
  • Batch or lot identification
  • Country-of-origin marking
  • Carton strength and pallet pattern

Decorative Displays

Display and retail materials are viewed at close range. A golden sample should define color, gloss, brushing direction, pattern repeat and acceptable surface variation.

Protective film must remain secure during fabrication but remove cleanly without adhesive transfer.

Performance and Quality Requirements

Depending on the product, define:

  • Alloy and temper
  • Thickness and width tolerance
  • Edge burr and camber
  • Coil winding and telescoping
  • Color difference and gloss tolerance
  • Coating thickness
  • Coating adhesion
  • T-bend or minimum bend radius
  • Pencil hardness and scratch resistance
  • Protective-film peel behavior
  • Sheet flatness and diagonal tolerance
  • Surface suitability for adhesive or reflective film

Frequently Asked Questions

Which aluminum is commonly used for channel letters?

AA3003 and AA3105 in formable tempers are common starting points. The final temper and thickness depend on the bender, letter depth, corner radius and assembly method.

Can you supply coil for automatic channel-letter bending machines?

Yes. Please provide the machine brand and model, required strip width, thickness, coil ID, maximum OD and edge requirement so the coil can be configured for stable feeding.

Can both sides have different colors?

Yes, subject to coating feasibility. Common programs use a colored exterior and white or another service color on the inside.

Can Ding'ang match a corporate brand color?

Yes. RAL, Pantone or a physical standard can be used for color development. Metallics and very bright colors should be approved with a production sample under agreed lighting.

Do you supply traffic-sign blanks with holes and rounded corners?

Custom blanks can be evaluated according to shape, dimensions, hole pattern, edge treatment, volume and converting capability. A drawing is required for quotation.

Can you supply small boxed coils?

Mini- or small-coil programs can be evaluated. The quotation should confirm length, weight tolerance, carton design, labels and whether conversion is in-house or partner-supported.

Will reflective sheeting adhere directly to the aluminum?

Adhesion depends on the aluminum surface, cleaning, pretreatment and film system. The reflective-film manufacturer’s instructions and an application trial should be followed.
