It can resist salt spray erosion in coastal areas, high temperature oxidation and severe weather changes, and will not deform or fade for a long time. It is the preferred alloy for high-end outdoor luminous characters, large building top luminous signs and coastal urban advertising signage projects, meeting the ultra-long service life requirements of 8–15 years.

Professional Coating Types and Technical Requirements for Luminous Character Aluminum Strips

The surface coating of luminous character color coated aluminum strips undertakes multiple functions of color decoration, light transmission coordination, anti-UV aging and anti-fouling protection. Ordinary industrial coatings cannot meet the long-term display needs of luminous characters. Silicone-Modified Polyester (SMP) coating

It effectively delays coating fading and pulverization under outdoor sunlight irradiation, with a standard coating thickness of more than 30μm. It balances durability and economy, and is suitable for conventional outdoor luminous characters in inland cities, meeting 5–8 years of stable outdoor use.

Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) coating

The top-grade coating for high-end outdoor luminous characters. With excellent weather resistance, UV resistance, chemical corrosion resistance and self-cleaning performance, it is the most stable coating for advertising luminous signage. The fluorocarbon coating has strong color retention, which can maintain consistent brightness and color of luminous characters for a long time, and is not easy to be stained with dust and rain marks. It is mandatory for high-end projects such as coastal luminous signs, super-large building top luminous characters and high-end commercial street signage, with a service life of more than 10 years.

Matching Principles of Alloy and Coating for Luminous Character Aluminum Strips
