Food grade lacquered aluminum foil is a high-performance packaging material designed for ready-to-cook frozen desserts, frozen food trays, dessert lids, meal containers, bakery products, dairy desserts, and food packaging applications requiring heat sealing, moisture resistance, food-contact safety, and stable forming performance.
Our lacquered aluminium foil is available in a thickness range from 40μm to 300μm. One side can be coated with colourless or coloured lacquer for appearance, protection, and branding, while the other side adopts professional heat-sealing lacquer for reliable sealing performance. Optional surface lubrication can also be customized according to forming, punching, lidding, and packaging line requirements.
Food grade lacquered aluminum foil provides a protective barrier against oxygen, moisture, light, aroma loss, oil migration, and food contamination. It is suitable for frozen desserts and ready-to-cook food packaging that may experience low-temperature storage, heating, water exposure, pasteurization, sterilization, sealing pressure, and transportation stress.
The lacquer system can be customized with vinyl, epoxy, polyester, or other approved resin systems according to food type, sealing substrate, heating condition, freezing condition, and packaging machine requirements. This makes the foil suitable for both standard food packaging and demanding ready-meal packaging structures.
Item | Specification | Packaging Value |
|---|---|---|
Product Name | Food grade lacquered aluminum foil | Suitable for ready-to-cook frozen desserts and food packaging. |
Thickness Range | 40μm-300μm | Supports lidding, forming, trays, containers, and custom food packaging structures. |
Outer Lacquer | Colourless or coloured lacquer | Provides surface protection, decoration, branding, and food packaging appearance. |
Heat-Sealing Side | Professional heat-sealing lacquer | Supports reliable sealing to PVC, universal lids, trays, and selected food packaging substrates. |
Optional Treatment | Surface lubrication | Improves forming, punching, stacking, and high-speed processing performance. |
Recommended Applications | Frozen desserts, ready-to-cook meals, frozen food trays, dairy desserts, food lids, and containers | Protects food quality during freezing, heating, sealing, storage, and distribution. |
The surface lacquer can be supplied as coloured lacquer or colourless protective lacquer according to customer requirements. Colour options can support brand identification, product differentiation, premium dessert packaging, and ready-to-cook food presentation.
Vinyl, epoxy, or polyester resin systems can be supplied according to different food packaging requirements. The lacquer offers strong adhesion to aluminum foil and can pass strict adhesive tape testing, helping reduce coating peeling, delamination, and surface defects during processing and use.
Epoxy and polyester lacquer systems provide strong resistance to heat, water, and solvents. The coating can achieve over 50 MEK double rubs for solvent resistance, withstand 2 minutes of dry heating at 240°C, and resist 15 minutes of boiling water immersion.
Polyester lacquer is BADGE-free, making it suitable for food packaging applications that require safer contact materials and reliable performance for frozen dessert packaging and ready-to-cook food packaging.
Heat-sealing lacquer can adopt vinyl or polyester material and is designed for food contact applications. Both vinyl and polyester heat-sealing systems are BADGE-free. Polyester heat-sealing lacquer is also BPA-free and PVC-free, supporting safer food packaging requirements.
The heat-sealing lacquer can be supplied with food-contact compliance support according to FDA-related requirements and customer project needs. It is suitable for direct or indirect food packaging applications when specified with approved material systems.
The heat-sealing lacquer resists 30 minutes of room temperature water exposure and 5 minutes of boiling water at 100°C. This makes it suitable for frozen desserts, ready-to-cook food, and food packaging applications where moisture exposure, condensation, thawing, or heating may occur.
Lacquer Type | Peel Strength | Porosity Standard | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|
Vinyl Lacquer | Peel strength to PVC over 12 N/15mm | Porosity < 5 pores/m² | Suitable for PVC sealing structures and selected food packaging lids. |
Polyester Lacquer | Peel strength to universal lid over 9 N/15mm | Porosity < 5 pores/m² | Suitable for universal lidding, frozen dessert trays, and ready-to-cook food packaging. |
Epoxy lacquer is PVC-free and provides over 30 MEK double rubs. It withstands 240°C dry heating, 180°C high-temperature processing, -16°C low-temperature storage, and 121°C steam sterilization. These properties make it suitable for demanding food packaging environments.
The epoxy lacquer system can also resist 3% acetic acid pasteurization at 80°C for 2 hours. This performance is valuable for ready-to-cook food, frozen food, dessert packaging, and food containers requiring resistance to heat, acidity, and processing stress.
Lubrication treatment is optional. The lubricant coating quantity can be fully customized according to the customer’s forming process, punching process, die design, packaging machine speed, stacking requirement, and technical specification.
The aluminum foil can be produced with different alloy grades according to food packaging requirements. European standard alloy options include EN AW 8011A, EN AW 8006, EN AW 3005, and EN AW 3105 in compliance with EN 573-3 requirements.
Chinese standard alloy options include 1100, 3003, 3004, 8011, and 8006 in compliance with GB/T 3190 and GB/T 27686 industry norms. Thickness, alloy grade, and temper can be customized to match ready-to-cook food and frozen dessert packaging requirements.
Standard System | Applicable Alloys | Packaging Application |
