AA3105-H14 white color coated aluminum coil is a purpose-built substrate for roll-forming seamless rain gutters and downspouts. As a 3xxx series aluminum-manganese alloy, 3105 delivers stable corrosion resistance and balanced mechanical performance, while H14 half-hard temper provides enough rigidity with good bending adaptability for gutter profiling.
Available with PE or PVDF paint finishes, the uniform white coating offers excellent UV stability, chalk resistance and color consistency under outdoor exposure. It resists rainwater, humidity and mild coastal salt spray, minimizing paint peeling and discoloration over years. Widely adopted for residential and commercial building rainwater drainage projects.
We support custom thickness, slit width, RAL white color matching and bulk factory supply, consistent surface quality to reduce reject rates during continuous roll forming.
H14 is the primary temper for this product page and provides a practical balance of rigidity and roll-forming performance for suitable gutter and building-trim profiles. Other tempers such as H24, H26 and H28 can be discussed where a different combination of strength and forming performance is required.
PE, SMP, PVDF and project-specific coating systems are available according to outdoor exposure, color-retention requirements, fabrication method and budget. White finishes can be matched to RAL, PANTONE or an approved customer sample.

AA3105 is widely used for roll-formed building products because suitable tempers provide the combination of rigidity and forming capability required for gutters, downspouts, fascia and other exterior profiles.
The manganese-containing 3105 alloy provides greater mechanical strength than common commercially pure aluminum grades while retaining useful forming characteristics for building-product manufacturing.
AA3105 provides good general atmospheric corrosion resistance, while the factory-applied coating adds color and additional exterior surface protection. Actual service performance depends on coating condition, cut edges, fasteners, local environment and installation.
Aluminum has approximately one-third the density of conventional steel, helping reduce the weight of gutter and downspout components during handling, transportation and installation.
3105 aluminum can be supplied with factory-applied coating systems designed for continuous building-product fabrication, providing controlled color, gloss and surface appearance before roll forming.
Temper selection influences strength, hardness, bendability and roll-forming behavior. The same alloy should not be expected to have identical mechanical properties in H14, H24, H26 and H28 conditions.
Temper | General Characteristic | Purchasing Consideration |
|---|---|---|
H14 | Half-hard strain-hardened condition | Primary condition for this product page; confirm suitability with the intended gutter profile and machine |
H24 | Strain-hardened and partially annealed condition | Commonly used for painted building-product coil where a different forming balance is required |
H26 | Higher-strength strain-hardened and partially annealed condition | Provides greater rigidity with lower forming allowance than softer conditions |
H28 | Harder strain-hardened condition | Use where higher hardness is required and the finished profile does not require severe forming |
For critical gutter profiles, the required temper should be established using the actual material thickness, bend radii, roll-forming sequence and finished mechanical requirements.
PE polyester coating provides an economical factory-finished surface for gutter and building-trim applications where the selected coating specification satisfies the required outdoor exposure and appearance requirements.
SMP coating can be specified for projects requiring a different balance of hardness, weathering performance and cost. Exact performance depends on the coating formulation and specified dry-film thickness.
PVDF is generally selected for more demanding exterior applications where long-term UV resistance, color retention and weathering performance are priorities. Final performance should be based on the approved coating specification rather than the PVDF name alone.
White coating can be matched to a RAL, PANTONE or approved physical color sample. Other architectural colors can also be discussed for gutter systems that must coordinate with roofing, siding, fascia or facade finishes.
Advantage | Performance | Value for Gutter & Downspout Production |
|---|---|---|
Corrosion Resistance | 3105 aluminum provides good atmospheric corrosion resistance, supplemented by the selected exterior coating. | Suitable for rainwater-handling components when the coating and installation match the service environment. |
Low Weight | Aluminum has substantially lower density than steel. | Supports easier coil handling, profile installation and transportation. |
Good Formability | Suitable temper can be roll-formed, bent, cut and fabricated into building-product profiles. | Supports continuous gutter and downspout manufacturing on compatible equipment. |
Coating Adhesion | Coating systems can be selected for forming compatibility and tested according to agreed bend and adhesion requirements. | Helps reduce coating cracking or peeling during properly controlled fabrication. |
Custom Color | RAL, PANTONE and customer-approved colors are available. | Allows gutter systems to coordinate with roofs, siding, fascia and other exterior components. |
Before ordering, confirm the required coil width, gauge, inner diameter, maximum outside diameter and coil weight accepted by the gutter or downspout forming machine.
The allowable bend severity depends on temper, thickness, coating type and profile geometry. Tight or multiple bends should be validated with representative production material where coating integrity is critical.
Roll-forming equipment should be clean, aligned and free from abrasive contamination. Tooling damage or trapped debris can scratch the finished white surface even when the coating itself has suitable adhesion.
For large projects, distributors and repeat orders, approve a physical color sample and specify acceptable color and gloss tolerances. Ordering material for one project under the same approved coating specification helps control visual variation.
Discuss Your Roll-Forming Requirements
AA3105 color coated aluminum coil can be roll-formed into suitable residential and commercial rain gutter profiles where the selected gauge, temper and width match the gutter machine.
The material can be fabricated into rectangular, round or project-specific downspout components according to the required profile and forming process.
Prepainted 3105 aluminum can be used for suitable fascia covers, soffit components and roof-edge finishing where the material specification meets the finished system requirements.
Color coated aluminum can be fabricated into flashing and trim for roof edges, wall transitions and other exterior water-management details when compatible with the adjoining materials and roof system.
White gutters and downspouts can be coordinated with residential roofing, siding and facade colors for houses, villas, apartments and townhouses.
The coil can also be used for suitable drainage and exterior trim systems on offices, retail buildings, warehouses, workshops and other commercial or industrial facilities.
The current product specification lists a 5-10μm primer and 15-25μm topcoat, with a total coating build of approximately 20-35μm. Final film build should be confirmed according to PE, SMP, PVDF or other approved coating system.
Where coating adhesion is contractual, specify the required test method and acceptance criteria. Forming performance should also be evaluated after the relevant bend or roll-forming operation.
Salt-spray duration by itself does not completely define real outdoor service life. If required, specify the test standard, exposure duration, scribe condition and acceptable blistering, corrosion or coating-creep criteria.
UV and accelerated-weathering requirements should identify the test cycle, duration and allowable color or gloss change. Performance should be matched to the selected coating system and intended climate.
For gutter and downspout production, coating flexibility can be evaluated using an agreed T-bend or production forming test to verify that the coating remains acceptable after bending.
The incoming 3105 substrate is checked against the required alloy, temper, thickness and dimensional specification.
The aluminum surface is cleaned and prepared to support coating adhesion and exterior corrosion performance.
The specified coating system is applied using controlled coil-coating processes according to required color, gloss and dry-film build.
The applied coating is cured according to the coating-system requirements to develop the required adhesion and surface properties.
Wide coated coil can be slit and rewound to the width, coil weight and winding configuration required by the customer's gutter or downspout production equipment.
Inspection can include dimensions, coating thickness, color, gloss, surface appearance, adhesion and other agreed properties before packaging.
This page is based on AA3105-H14. If the gutter machine or existing specification requires H24, H26, H28 or another temper, identify it explicitly in the inquiry.
Provide nominal thickness, thickness tolerance, width and width tolerance. Standard building-product or gutter-machine widths can also be supplied where they fall within the available production range.
Specify PE, SMP, PVDF or another required system according to exterior exposure, required color retention and applicable project requirements.
Provide a RAL, PANTONE, existing paint code or physical color sample. Also identify the required gloss level and acceptable color tolerance where appearance matching is important.
Specify coil inner diameter, maximum outer diameter, target coil weight, winding direction and any packaging limits imposed by the customer's material-handling equipment.
A finished profile drawing or gutter-machine specification helps confirm the required width, bend severity and material condition before commercial production.
Where required, state the applicable material standard, coating thickness, adhesion, T-bend, salt spray, accelerated weathering, color, gloss and inspection-document requirements in the purchase specification.
Coils can be packed with moisture-resistant wrapping, protective edge materials and export pallets according to coil size and transportation requirements. Horizontal or vertical packing can be discussed according to handling and unloading conditions.
Final packing should protect the coated surface and coil edges against moisture, scratching, collision and deformation during inland handling and international transportation.
Q1: What is the difference between 3105 H14 and 3105 H24 gutter coil?
A1: H14 is half-hard from pure cold work hardening; H24 is cold-hardened then partially stress-relieved. H14 features higher rigidity; H24 has better elongation, less springback and lower cracking risk during sharp bending. H14 suits standard gutter profiles with moderate forming requirements.
Q2: Which coating option should I pick, PE or PVDF, for this white gutter coil?
A2: PE polyester coating is cost-effective for inland normal climate with 8–12 years service life. PVDF coating delivers superior UV and chalk resistance, ideal for sunny regions, coastal or high-end architectural projects with long warranty demands.
Q3: Can this AA3105-H14 white aluminum coil be used for coastal buildings?
A3: Yes, but PVDF coating is strongly recommended for coastal salt-spray zones. PE coated version is better for inland areas. Proper installation and edge sealing will further extend the service life.
Q4: What standard specs do you supply for gutter aluminum coil?
A4: Regular thickness ranges from 0.30mm to 0.60mm, common slit widths from 300mm to 1250mm. We can slit to custom widths for gutter machines and match standard white RAL codes such as RAL9016, RAL9003.
Q5: Will the white coating crack when roll forming gutters?
A5: With matched paint flexibility and proper bending radius, cracking can be avoided. We control coating flexibility specifically for gutter roll forming. Sharp, tight-radius folds will increase cracking risk regardless of temper.
