ALUMINUM COMPOSITE MATERIAL SUPPLIER

What Is Aluminum Composite Material?

Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) for household appliance panels — also often called Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) — is a three-layer sandwich-structured composite material specially developed and optimized for the exterior and interior panels of home appliances.
It is composed of two thin, high-quality aluminum alloy sheets as the surface layers, bonded firmly to a lightweight core (usually polyethylene PE, fire-retardant PE, or mineral-filled core) under high temperature and pressure. The surface is further treated with color-coated PE or PVDF finish, and protected by PE film during production and transportation.
This material is designed to meet the strict requirements of the home appliance industry, including appearance, formability, corrosion resistance, safety, and cost efficiency. It is widely used for refrigerator doors, washing machine casings, microwave ovens, air conditioners, small kitchen appliances, and other appliance panel parts.

How to choose the Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) for Household Appliance Panels?

1) Select Core Material According to Appliance Function & Safety Requirements.

For ordinary household appliances with low heat and basic fire safety demands.
Suitable: Refrigerator shells, air conditioner panels, washing machine covers, small home appliances.

-Fire-Retardant PE (FR‑PE) Core
For electrical appliances that generate heat during operation. Meets B1 fire rating.
Suitable: Microwave ovens, ovens, dishwashers, range hoods.

-Mineral‑Filled / Non‑Combustible Core
For high‑temperature built‑in appliances requiring A2 or A1 fire resistance.

2) Choose Surface Coating Based on Appearance & Service Environment.

- PE Polyester Coating
Cost-effective, good color uniformity, suitable for indoor use.
Best for: Mass‑produced standard appliances, low‑humidity environments.

- Anti‑Fingerprint (AF) Coating
Oil‑repellent, easy to clean, reduces fingerprint visibility.
Best for: Refrigerator doors, washing machine front panels, high‑end appliances.

- High‑Hardness / Anti‑Scratch Coating
Improved abrasion resistance during transportation and stamping.
Best for: Appliance tops, side panels, high‑traffic surfaces.

- Food‑Safe Water-Based Coating
Low VOC, non‑toxic, meets FDA / GB 4806.9.
Best for: Kitchen appliances, food-contact areas, inner liners.
Suitable: Built-in ovens, high-power kitchen electrical appliances.

- Mineral‑Filled / Non‑Combustible Core
For high‑temperature built‑in appliances requiring A2 or A1 fire resistance.
Suitable: Built-in ovens, high-power kitchen electrical appliances.

3) Match Aluminum Alloy & Thickness to Processing & Structural Needs.

Alloy Selection
- 1060/3003: Good formability, low cost, ideal for stamping and bending.
- 3105: Higher rigidity, better flatness for large panels.
- 5052: High strength, corrosion resistance, for load-bearing appliance shells.

Panel Thickness
-under 0.5mm: Small appliances, lightweight parts.
-upper 0.5mm: Most mainstream appliance panels (refrigerators, washers, A/C units).

6) Consider Production Compatibility & Cost Efficiency.

- If using automatic stamping / bending lines: Choose high formability ACM with flexible coating.
- For mass production: Select standard thickness, stable color, low scrap rate.
- For cost control: PE core + PE coating is the most economical solution.
- For high‑end positioning: Use anti‑fingerprint, metallic, or matte textured finishes.

4) Confirm Performance Specifications Based on Working Environment.

-Kitchen & High‑Humidity Environments
Require salt spray resistance ≥ 1000 hours, good moisture and oil resistance.

-High‑Temperature Appliances
Ensure core and coating can withstand continuous thermal cycling without deformation or discoloration.

-Indoor Long‑Term Use
Prioritize color stability, coating adhesion (≥4B), and low warpage.

7) Final Summary of Typical Matching Schemes.

-Refrigerator panels:  PE core, PE coating + anti‑fingerprint
-Washing machine shells: 3003/5052 alloy, high rigidity
- Oven/microwave panels: FR‑PE or mineral core, heat‑resistant coating
-Small kitchen appliances: food‑safe compliant coating

5) Comply with Household & Food‑Contact Safety Standards.

Select ACM certified to:
- FDA (food contact)
- EU REACH (low heavy metals)
- GB 4806.9 (food‑grade materials for kitchen appliances)
- GB 8624 (fire performance for electrical appliances)

Features of Lacquered Aluminum Foil

Composite aluminum foil (also called laminated aluminum foil) is widely used in packaging and industrial applications because it combines aluminum with plastic films, paper, or other substrates. This multi-layer structure gives it properties that single-layer materials can’t achieve.:
  • Aesthetic Variety

Color coated aluminum coils are available in a wide range of colors, shades, and finishes, allowing for creative design choices. This versatility makes them suitable for various architectural, decorative, and industrial applications.
  • Corrosion Resistance

Aluminum itself is naturally corrosion-resistant due to its oxide layer. The additional coating enhances this property, making color coated aluminum coils suitable for outdoor applications, even in harsh environments.
  • Weather Resistance

The combination of aluminum's inherent weather resistance and the protective coating ensures that color coated aluminum coils can withstand exposure to UV radiation, moisture, and temperature fluctuations without significant degradation.
  • Durability

The paint or coating applied to the aluminum surface is designed to be durable, preventing chipping, fading, and cracking. This longevity reduces the need for frequent maintenance and replacement.
  • Lightweight

Aluminum is a lightweight material, which contributes to easier handling, transportation, and installation of color coated aluminum coils, especially when compared to heavier materials like steel.
  • Form ability

Aluminum is malleable and can be easily formed into various shapes without cracking or breaking. This property makes color coated aluminum coils suitable for intricate designs and curved surfaces.
  • Heat Reflectivity

Aluminum has excellent heat reflectivity properties, contributing to energy efficiency by reducing heat absorption in buildings and structures.
  • Environmental Friendliness

Aluminum is a recyclable material, and using color coated aluminum coils can contribute to sustainability efforts by reducing the need for new raw materials.
  • Low Maintenance

The durable coatings on color coated aluminum coils require minimal maintenance over their lifespan. Regular cleaning with mild detergents can help retain their appearance.
  • Versatility

Color coated aluminum coils find applications in a wide range of industries, including construction (roofing, cladding, facades), transportation (vehicle bodies, trailers), electronics, signage, and more.Color coated aluminum coils find applications in a wide range of industries, including construction (roofing, cladding, facades), transportation (vehicle bodies, trailers), electronics, signage, and more.
