Double side laminated aluminum barrier film is a multilayer composite designed for industrial applications requiring strong protection against moisture vapor, oxygen, light and external contamination. Aluminum foil is incorporated on both sides of a functional polymer core, creating a symmetrical or application-specific barrier construction for demanding storage, transportation, insulation and protective packaging environments.
Typical structures include AL/PE/AL, PET/AL/PE/AL, AL/PP/AL and AL/PA/AL. Aluminum foil thickness can be supplied from 7 μm to 50 μm on each side, with total laminate thickness from 80 μm to 350 μm and widths from 100 mm to 2200 mm. Polymer type, heat-seal layer, surface finish, roll length and laminate construction can be customized according to the required barrier performance and converting process.

Aluminum foil provides an effective barrier against water vapor, oxygen and light when the foil layer, laminate bond and finished seals remain intact. Using aluminum foil on both sides provides an additional barrier layer and allows the laminate structure to be engineered for applications where moisture control is critical.
Required Water Vapor Transmission Rate and Oxygen Transmission Rate should be specified by the buyer together with the test method, temperature and humidity conditions. Final barrier performance depends on foil thickness, pinhole condition, polymer layers, lamination quality, converting and seal integrity.
Opaque aluminum layers help shield packaged products from visible and ultraviolet light while reducing exposure to external gases, grease and environmental contamination. This is useful for moisture-sensitive industrial components, machinery, electronics and materials stored or transported for extended periods.
Aluminum foil itself can be vulnerable to puncture or flex cracking. Laminating it with PET, PE, PP, PA or other selected polymers improves handling strength, dimensional stability and resistance to tearing or puncture. The most suitable structure depends on package size, product weight, sharp edges, folding and transportation conditions.
The aluminum surface can act as a reflective facing in HVAC, pipe and building insulation constructions while the laminate provides moisture-barrier protection for the insulation system. Overall thermal performance depends on the complete assembly, including insulation type, air space, installation method and environmental conditions.
When a suitable PE, PP or customized sealant layer is selected, the laminate can be engineered for heat-sealed bags, liners, covers and industrial barrier enclosures. The material can also be supplied for slitting, die cutting, pouch making, embossing and other converting operations.

AL/PE/AL is a straightforward double-aluminum construction for moisture-barrier, reflective-facing and industrial composite applications. PE provides bonding flexibility and can also contribute heat-seal functionality when an appropriate grade and layer arrangement are selected.
Typical applications: HVAC insulation facing, pipe insulation, building insulation systems, industrial liners and moisture-barrier constructions.
Adding PET provides additional tensile strength, dimensional stability and surface durability. This structure can be considered for industrial packaging where handling, folding, transportation and resistance to external abrasion are important.
Typical applications: export equipment protection, machinery wrapping, precision components, electronics and customized industrial barrier packaging.
PP-based structures can be considered where the converting process or application requires polypropylene properties such as higher temperature resistance than conventional PE. Actual performance depends on PP grade, lamination process and finished composite design.
Typical applications: industrial liners, insulation facings and customized composite manufacturing.
PA can be incorporated when additional mechanical toughness, puncture resistance or flex durability is required. The final construction should be selected according to packed-product geometry, handling conditions and required sealing method.
Custom combinations of aluminum foil, PET, PE, PP, PA and other compatible functional layers can be developed according to required barrier properties, mechanical strength, heat-sealing conditions, surface treatment, printing and downstream converting requirements.
For moisture-sensitive applications, buyers should specify the required WVTR together with temperature, relative humidity and test standard. Results can vary significantly with foil thickness, pinholes, laminate design and test conditions, so the test basis should be agreed before production.
OTR requirements are particularly relevant where oxidation or atmospheric exposure can affect the packaged product. A specific oxygen-barrier target should be linked to the final laminate construction rather than assumed from aluminum foil thickness alone.
For bags, covers or sealed barrier enclosures, overall protection depends on more than the film itself. Heat-seal temperature, pressure, dwell time, seam width, corner design, penetrations and handling damage can all influence the finished package.
Heavy machinery and metal components can place high mechanical loads on barrier packaging. PET, PA or other reinforcement layers can be incorporated where the package must resist abrasion, sharp corners, repeated folding or rough handling during transportation.
Double-side aluminum barrier laminates can be converted into large-format covers, liners and heat-sealed enclosures for machinery, precision equipment and metal components requiring protection during sea freight or long-term storage.
For corrosion-sensitive equipment, the film can form part of a complete preservation system that may also include desiccants, humidity indicators, corrosion-control materials or vacuum procedures according to the customer's packaging specification.
The reflective aluminum surfaces and moisture-resistant laminate construction can be used as facing material for HVAC ducts, insulated pipes and other thermal insulation systems. The laminate helps protect insulation materials against moisture ingress while providing a reflective exterior surface.
Custom high-barrier structures can be evaluated as components in vacuum insulation or composite panel systems where low moisture and gas transmission are required. Final suitability must be verified against the system's target permeability, sealing design and service conditions.
Barrier laminates can protect electronic assemblies, precision components and moisture-sensitive materials during storage or transportation. If electrostatic protection is required, the electrical properties and antistatic or static-dissipative layers must be separately specified rather than assumed from the standard aluminum laminate.
Customized laminates can be evaluated for protective wrapping, moisture-barrier layers or industrial packaging of battery-related materials and components. Applications requiring direct cell enclosure or specialized battery pouch performance require a separately engineered material specification.
High-barrier laminates can be evaluated for protective or secondary packaging of moisture-sensitive pharmaceutical ingredients, laboratory materials and specialty chemicals. Where the material directly contacts a regulated product, the complete laminate structure and applicable compliance documentation must be confirmed for the destination market and intended use.
Widths from 100 mm to 2200 mm are available within the applicable laminate structure. Roll length, winding direction and core requirements can be customized according to downstream laminating, pouch-making or automatic converting equipment.
PE, PP or customized sealant structures can be supplied for suitable heat-sealing processes. Buyers should provide target seal strength, sealing temperature, dwell time and packaging-machine information where seal performance is critical.
Glossy, matte and embossed finishes are available. Printing, logo identification or other surface treatments can be discussed according to substrate surface, ink system and customer requirements.
Foil thickness, polymer selection, total thickness, surface finish and sealant layer can be adjusted according to required WVTR, OTR, mechanical strength, thermal exposure, converting method and finished package design.
