Custom size Aluminum/PE/Carton/PE sheet is a high-barrier laminated packaging material designed for industrial packaging, food packaging, beverage cartons, pharmaceutical packaging, chemical packaging, and inner packing lining applications. The four-layer composite structure combines aluminum foil, polyethylene, carton paperboard, and inner PE film to provide strong barrier protection, structural rigidity, heat sealability, and reliable packaging performance.
This laminated sheet is suitable for customers who need customized thickness, width, sheet size, roll format, barrier performance, printability, and food-contact safety. It helps protect packaged products from oxygen, moisture, light, odors, contamination, leakage, and handling damage during filling, storage, transportation, and retail distribution.
Aluminum/PE/Carton/PE sheet, also known as Aluminum-Polyethylene-Carton-Polyethylene laminated sheet, is a high-performance four-layer composite material engineered for superior barrier protection and structural integrity. Each layer performs a specific function, making the material suitable for demanding packaging applications that require both protection and forming stability.
The material can be supplied in custom sizes according to customer packaging requirements. It can be produced as rolls or flat sheets and processed into cartons, inner liners, trays, sachets, lidding structures, pouches, and other industrial packaging formats.
Layer | Material | Function |
|---|---|---|
Outer Layer | Aluminum foil | Provides excellent barrier protection against oxygen, moisture, light, odors, and external contaminants. |
Bonding Layer | PE, polyethylene | Acts as an adhesive bonding layer and provides additional moisture resistance. |
Core Layer | Carton paperboard | Provides structural rigidity, printability, stacking strength, and paper-based packaging characteristics. |
Inner Layer | PE, polyethylene | Offers food-contact safety, heat sealability, chemical resistance, and inner surface protection. |
This multi-layer construction is manufactured through extrusion lamination or dry lamination technology. Stable bonding between layers helps ensure consistent barrier performance, sealing quality, sheet strength, and dimensional stability.

Note: Custom specifications are available upon request to meet different industrial packaging, food packaging, carton lining, and barrier packaging requirements.
Material Preparation: Select food-grade aluminum foil, coated carton board, and low-melt-index PE resin. Surface treatment such as corona treatment can be used to improve bonding strength between layers.
Extrusion Lamination or Dry Lamination: Extrusion lamination uses molten PE resin as a bonding film between aluminum foil and carton board. Dry lamination uses adhesive to compound aluminum foil with PE film, then laminate with carton board and the inner PE layer.
Cooling and Setting: The composite web passes through a cooling roller system to stabilize the bonding structure and reduce internal stress.
Slitting and Winding: Large-width laminated sheets are slit into target widths or cut into custom sizes according to customer requirements, then wound into rolls or prepared as flat sheets.
Pre-Delivery Inspection: Appearance, thickness, barrier performance, heat sealing performance, bonding strength, and dimensional tolerance are tested before packaging and delivery.
Aluminum/PE/Carton/PE sheet is a versatile material used across multiple industries. It is especially suitable for packaging solutions that require both high-barrier protection and structural integrity.
Industry | Typical Applications |
|---|---|
Food and Beverage Industry | Aseptic cartons for milk, juice, plant-based beverages, soup, coffee, tea, powdered milk, nutritional supplements, ready-to-eat meal trays, instant noodle bowls, frozen food containers, and pet food packaging. |
Pharmaceutical and Healthcare | Medical device packaging, pharmaceutical sachets, tablets, capsules, powdered medications, vitamins, nutraceuticals, and dietary supplement packaging. |
Industrial and Specialty Applications | Chemical packaging, solvents, adhesives, lubricants, agricultural chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers, and moisture-sensitive electronic component packaging. |
Consumer Goods | Cosmetic packaging, personal care products, creams, lotions, powders, detergent packaging, fabric softener packaging, and household cleaning product packaging. |
In food and beverage packaging, Aluminum/PE/Carton/PE sheet provides oxygen, moisture, and light protection while maintaining sufficient rigidity for carton forming. It is suitable for liquid food packaging, dry food packaging, convenience food packaging, and pet food packaging.
The high-barrier laminate structure helps protect health-sensitive products from moisture, oxygen, and external contamination. It can be used for medical device packaging, tablet sachets, capsule packaging, powdered medication packaging, and nutraceutical packaging.
For industrial packaging, the sheet can provide multi-barrier protection for chemicals, adhesives, lubricants, agricultural products, and electronic components. The carton layer gives rigidity, while the aluminum and PE layers provide barrier and sealing performance.
Advantage | Performance | Packaging Value |
|---|---|---|
Superior Barrier Performance | Aluminum foil provides excellent resistance against oxygen, moisture, UV light, odors, and external contaminants. | Extends shelf life and helps protect flavor, freshness, stability, and product quality. |
Structural Rigidity | The carton core provides stiffness, stackability, and shape retention. | Supports handling, forming, stacking, and transportation without easy deformation. |
Secure Heat Sealability | Inner PE layer enables strong and consistent heat sealing. | Helps create leak-proof, tamper-evident, and contamination-resistant packaging. |
Excellent Printability | Carton surface supports high-quality printing and product information display. | Improves brand differentiation, retail presentation, and consumer communication. |
Material Efficiency | Laminated design combines multiple functions in one structure. | Reduces packaging weight and can lower transportation and handling costs compared with heavier packaging alternatives. |
Safety and Compliance | Food-grade PE inner layer can support direct food contact requirements. | Suitable for food, beverage, healthcare, and regulated packaging applications when specified properly. |
The aluminum foil layer provides excellent oxygen, moisture, light, and UV barrier properties. This helps prevent oxidation, flavor loss, moisture absorption, product degradation, and quality reduction during storage and distribution.
The carton core delivers strong structural support for handling, stacking, transportation, and packaging forming. The inner PE layer enables strong heat sealing, while the carton surface supports printing for branding and product information.
The laminated structure uses each material layer efficiently to balance barrier performance, rigidity, printability, and sealing function. Compared with glass or metal packaging, it can reduce packaging weight and transportation costs while maintaining reliable protection.
The inner PE layer can be made from food-contact grade polyethylene to support direct food contact applications. The laminate can be produced according to FDA, EU, and project-specific hygiene and safety requirements.
