PE polyester prepainted aluminum strip is designed for roll forming exterior venetian blind slats, horizontal shading blades, architectural louvres and related exterior sun-control components where coating flexibility, consistent color, precise strip width and smooth edges are important for continuous production.
The current production range covers aluminum coil and strip from 0.024 to 2.00 mm thick with slitting widths from 15 to 2650 mm. Solid colors, white, silver, anthracite grey, brown, wood-grain effects and custom RAL or Pantone references can be discussed according to the selected coating system.
For exterior blind manufacturers, the material specification should be matched to the finished slat profile. Alloy and temper, flat-strip width, coating flexibility, bend radius, edge burr, color, gloss and exterior exposure should therefore be confirmed before mass production rather than selecting material only by the visible width of the finished blind slat.

These reference values should not be interpreted as automatic certification for every alloy, color, gloss level or production batch. If a weathering, flexibility, adhesion or corrosion result is required for the project, include it in the order specification and confirm the applicable production test report.
Exterior blind strip is normally converted from flat stock into a profiled slat. Depending on the blind design, the strip may pass through several roll-forming stations that progressively create curvature, edge reinforcement, hems or other profile features.
The coating must therefore tolerate the actual forming strain without unacceptable cracking or loss of adhesion. The listed 1T bend reference is useful as an initial coating-flexibility indicator, but it does not replace a production trial using the intended alloy, gauge, slat geometry and forming equipment.
Exterior venetian blinds may use curved, C-shaped, Z-shaped, S-shaped or proprietary slat profiles. Flat-strip width should therefore be calculated from the actual cross-section rather than selected only from the visible width of the finished slat.
Tight radii and folded edges place greater strain on the aluminum and paint film. Where the profile contains tight bends or hems, the substrate temper and coating flexibility should be evaluated together.
Roll surfaces, guides and transfer equipment should be clean and correctly aligned. Contaminated or damaged tooling can mark a coated strip even when the paint itself meets the specified hardness and flexibility requirements.
Send Your Blind Slat Profile Drawing
There is no single aluminum alloy or temper that is correct for every exterior blind. The material condition should be selected according to strip thickness, finished profile, required slat stiffness, forming radius and the customer's roll-forming line.
Where the alloy and temper have already been validated by the blind manufacturer, include them directly in the inquiry. For a new profile, provide a cross-section drawing and mechanical requirements so that the material condition can be reviewed before production.
A softer or more formable condition can reduce cracking risk at tight bends, but may provide less finished rigidity. A harder condition can increase stiffness but may require larger forming radii.
Finished rigidity depends on alloy, temper, metal thickness and slat cross-section. Material thickness alone should not be used to predict the wind resistance of the complete exterior blind.
Stable slit-strip dimensions are important for automated blind production. Excessive width variation can change the finished profile geometry or interfere with roll-forming guides.
Edge burr should also be controlled because sharp or inconsistent edges can affect feeding, increase tooling wear and create handling problems. The existing product information states that edge burrs are minimized, but manufacturers requiring a numerical limit should specify the maximum allowable burr height.
Provide the required flat-strip width and tolerance based on the forming line rather than only the final visible slat dimension.
Where long narrow strips feed continuously through automated equipment, excessive camber can cause tracking problems. A numerical camber limit should be included when it is critical to the production line.
Consistent winding and edge alignment help reduce feeding problems and surface damage. Coil weight, outside diameter and winding direction should be matched to the customer's uncoiler where necessary.
PE in this product refers to a polyester coating system. Polyester can provide a cost-effective combination of color, coating flexibility and exterior performance where the selected formulation satisfies the actual exposure requirement.
Selection Factor | PE Polyester | PVDF / Higher-Durability System |
Primary Positioning | Cost-effective coating for compatible blind and shading applications | Consider where the project requires more demanding exterior weathering performance |
Forming | Can provide good flexibility when formulated for roll-formed strip | Must also be selected and tested for the actual slat-forming requirement |
UV Exposure | Suitability depends on polyester formulation, pigment, color and exposure | Commonly evaluated for more demanding exterior exposure, subject to the specified coating system |
Color Retention | Must be purchased against the required weathering and color-change criteria | Must also be defined through the project coating specification rather than a universal lifespan claim |
Best Selection Method | Compare UV exposure, humidity, coastal salt, industrial atmosphere, slat orientation, color, forming severity, project life and budget | |
Neither coating family should be selected only from a generic number of service years. Actual exterior appearance depends on pretreatment, coating formulation, pigment, film thickness, exposure direction, climate, pollution, maintenance and production quality.
RAL and Pantone references can be used to communicate a target color. For exterior architectural blinds where close matching is important, approval against a physical production sample is recommended.
The existing coating table uses NCS S-7500-N with ΔE*ab ≤1.0 as a reference color-control specification. Other colors should have their own approved master and tolerance where numerical color control is required.
The existing reference is 30 ±5 gloss units at 60°. Matte, semi-matte or other gloss targets should be agreed before production if the architectural design requires a different surface appearance.
Wood-grain finishes can be discussed where available. Exterior suitability should be confirmed for the actual decorative system because printed or patterned surfaces may have different weathering characteristics from standard solid-color polyester coatings.
Exterior blind slats may receive prolonged direct sunlight. Where color and gloss retention are important, specify the required accelerated or natural weathering test and acceptance limits rather than relying on a generic statement that the coating is UV resistant.
Coastal installations require consideration of salt deposition, exposed slit edges, fasteners, contact with other metals, drainage and maintenance. Laboratory salt-spray results should not be converted directly into a guaranteed number of years in the field.
Pollution, airborne chemicals and frequent cleaning can affect coating appearance. Provide the expected environment where the blind system will be installed if exposure is more severe than a typical inland building application.
Prepainted aluminum strip is the raw material used to manufacture a slat. Shading efficiency, solar control, wind resistance, operating noise, maximum blind size and motor compatibility are properties of the finished exterior blind system rather than the flat aluminum strip alone.
Exterior blinds can intercept direct solar radiation before it reaches the glazing, but actual shading performance depends on slat width, curvature, spacing, tilt angle, surface color, window orientation and glazing characteristics.
Thin aluminum strip is not a thermal-insulation material. Reduction in solar heat gain is achieved through the complete external shading arrangement, while building-envelope thermal insulation is provided by the wall, glazing and insulation system.
Noise depends on slat profile, guides, ladder tapes, inserts, drive mechanism, wind and installation. Rubber or polymer inserts may reduce contact noise in suitable systems, but no fixed acoustic value should be attributed to the aluminum strip itself.
Prepainted aluminum slats can form part of motorized exterior blinds. Motor capacity, maximum blind dimensions, travel limits, control logic and wind-safety functions must be determined by the complete blind-system manufacturer.
Wind resistance depends on slat cross-section, material condition, side guides, fasteners, operating mechanism, deployed dimensions and installation. Strip thickness alone does not provide a wind-load rating.
PE prepainted strip can be roll formed into compatible external venetian blind slats where the substrate, coating flexibility and exterior weathering requirements match the finished blind design.
The material can be used for adjustable horizontal slats intended to manage direct sunlight and daylight in compatible building shading systems.
Prepainted strip can be evaluated for formed louvre components where material gauge, cross-section and supporting structure provide the required rigidity for the project.
Slit prepainted strip can also be supplied for compatible formed components used in exterior shading assemblies when the profile and coating requirements have been technically confirmed.
Confirm the specified alloy and temper against the approved slat profile before production because substrate condition affects bending behavior, springback and finished stiffness.
Verify metal thickness and tolerance against the blind manufacturer's drawing. A change in gauge can affect profile geometry and finished slat rigidity.
Measure slit width before roll forming and confirm it matches the approved flat-stock dimension rather than only the nominal finished slat width.
Check burr, edge damage and excessive camber where these characteristics affect automatic feeding or the appearance of the finished slat.
Where the 24 μm nominal coating construction is specified, verify the applicable dry-film thickness using the agreed current method.
Compare production material with the approved color and gloss reference before roll forming, particularly when several coils will be used on the same project.
For a new slat profile or a new coating system, run representative material through the intended production equipment and inspect the finished profile for paint cracking, delamination, scratches, dimensional variation and springback.
Provide the finished slat cross-section, visible width, bend radii, edge folds, hems, holes and other profile features that affect the required flat-stock width and forming strain.
State the approved alloy and temper where already defined. For a new slat design, provide required rigidity and forming information for material review.
The listed production range is 0.024–2.00 mm. Final feasibility depends on alloy, temper, width, coating and the intended slat geometry.
The listed slitting range is 15–2650 mm. Provide the exact width required by the forming line together with width tolerance, edge-burr and camber limits where necessary.
State the required polyester coating construction, coating thickness, front and back surface requirements and any contractual T-bend, hardness, adhesion or weathering criteria.
Provide a RAL, Pantone, NCS or physical color reference together with the required gloss. Use a physical master sample where exact architectural matching is important.
Identify inland, coastal, industrial or other exposure together with UV, humidity and corrosion requirements so the coating specification can be reviewed for the intended environment.
Provide required coil weight, inner diameter, outer diameter and winding direction where these parameters are limited by the customer's uncoiler or automatic production line.
State any required coating-thickness, gloss, color, hardness, T-bend, cupping, UV, natural-weathering, salt-spray or water-immersion requirements before production.

It is aluminum coil or slit strip that has been pretreated and continuously coated with a polyester paint system before being supplied for downstream forming into blind slats and related components.
For this product, PE refers to polyester paint used in prepainted aluminum coil coating. It should not be confused with polyethylene protective film or polyethylene laminate.
It can be suitable when the polyester formulation and specified weathering performance match the intended exterior environment. More severe UV, coastal or industrial exposure may require a different coating system.
The current listed production range is 0.024–2.00 mm. Final availability depends on alloy, temper, coating, strip width and forming requirements.
The listed slitting range is 15–2650 mm. The exact flat-strip width should be calculated from the final slat profile and production-line requirement.
The existing front-side specification lists 24 μm nominal total coating thickness, consisting of approximately 5 ±1.5 μm primer and 19 ±1.3 μm topcoat.
The original product specification references ASTM D1400. For new purchasing specifications, use an agreed current dry-film thickness measurement method suitable for nonferrous aluminum substrates.
It is a reference coating-flexibility requirement used to evaluate paint behavior during bending. For contractual testing, the substrate, bend direction, specimen temperature and pass/fail criteria should be defined.
No. Actual forming severity depends on profile geometry, aluminum temper, strip thickness, bend radius and production tooling. A representative roll-forming trial is recommended for new profiles.
RAL, Pantone and custom color matching can be discussed according to coating-system feasibility. A physical master sample is recommended for critical architectural color matching.
Wood-grain effects are included in the existing product options. Exterior weathering suitability should be confirmed for the exact decorative finish before use.
The existing reference is 30 ±5 gloss units at 60°, with a listed batch tolerance of ±3 units. Other gloss levels can be discussed before production.
The existing table contains the historical ASTM G53 reference. For new specifications, use an agreed current fluorescent-UV exposure method and define the lamp type, cycle, duration and evaluation criteria.
The existing specification references three years of Florida natural exposure with gloss retention ≥80% and ΔE*ab ≤5. Where this is required, the exposure orientation, location and evaluation protocol should be confirmed.
No. Salt-spray testing provides a laboratory corrosion reference under defined conditions. It should not be converted directly into a guaranteed number of field-service years.
Neither system is universally better. PE polyester can be a cost-effective and flexible option for suitable exposure conditions, while more demanding exterior projects may require a higher-durability coating. Selection should follow the actual project specification.
No. Exterior blinds can reduce solar heat gain as a complete shading system, but thin aluminum strip is a conductive material and should not be described as thermal insulation by itself.
No fixed noise reduction can be attributed to the strip alone. Operating noise depends on the complete blind assembly, guides, inserts, tapes, motor, wind and installation.
It can be used to manufacture slats for compatible motorized systems, but motor capacity and system compatibility are determined by the complete blind design rather than the coated strip alone.
No. Maximum blind area depends on slat profile, guides, drive system, wind requirement, mounting and the complete manufacturer's system design. The aluminum strip alone does not establish a maximum blind size.
The existing product information lists an MOQ of 2–5 metric tons per specification.
The current product information lists approximately 25 days after deposit or L/C. Actual lead time depends on alloy, dimensions, coating, color, slitting requirement and order quantity.
The listed configuration uses 405 mm or 505 mm paper cores. Confirm the required inner diameter and coil configuration against the receiving production line.
The existing packing information specifies paperboard protection with wooden pallets and runners for suitable ocean transportation.
Please provide alloy and temper, thickness, exact flat-strip width, slat-profile drawing, coating requirement, color reference, gloss, edge and width tolerances, required coating tests, coil configuration, supply format, quantity, packing requirements and destination.
